The 289-long-meter water channel construction in the residential area, Jalan Pisangan Baru I, RT 009/010, Pisangan Baru Urban Village, Matraman, East Jakarta keeps being accelerated.

Drainage Development and Improvement Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri explained the channel construction has been started since August 2023. It is carried out using a U-Ditch concrete measuring 60x60 centimeters and 280 meters long plus a box culvert measuring 60x60 centimeters and nine meters long.

"The work progress has reached 96 percent and is targeted for completion this weekend," he expressed, Tuesday (9/12).

Physically, it had actually been completed. The workers only need to tidy up and cover the edges of the U-Ditch, so it does not shift quickly, as well as clean up the debris left by the excavation.

"This is conducted, as the location is often inundated when it rains," he stated.
