Around 18 pets at RT 09/03, Cilangkap Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, received rabies vaccination on Monday (6/6). The vaccination service was conducted with a door-to-door system to prevent rabies transmission.

Cipayung Sub-district Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Unit Head Nur Hikmah mentioned that the door-to-door vaccination system was conducted to make it easier for people to vaccinate their pets, such as cats, dogs, monkeys, and ferrets. This service was conducted in collaboration with Cipayung Sub-district KPKP Unit and local R T/RW administrators.

"Of 18 pets vaccinated, 17 of them are cats and one dog," she added.

It involved 5 vets from the East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency, Cipayung, and RT/RW administrators.

"We'll hold it for several days ahead. We are aiming for Cipayung Sub-district to be free from rabies," he asserted.

Meanwhile, the rabies vaccination in Duren Sawit Sub-district was accompanied by an SME bazaar. The activity would be held until Tuesday (6/7) by involving several sub-agencies, such as Nakertransgi, PPKUKM, KPKP, PKK, and other sectors.

According to Duren Sawit Sub-district Head Musa Syafrudin, a total of 98 pets had been injected with rabies vaccination today, consisting of 8 dogs, 85 cats, and 5 other pets.

"This service is held with a bazaar which 30 fostered SMEs attend under several sub-agencies. We hope the activity can help improve their economy," he stated.
