As many as 52 households living on the bank of Apuran River, Kedaung Kaliangke Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, West Jakarta, began to be relocated to Daan Mogot Flat gradually. These households are affected by Apuran River normalization.

From 52 households, 39 of them have been relocated yesterday, Monday (12/15). The residents’ stuffs were picked up by using West Jakarta Satpol PP operational vehicles, while women and children rode buses provided by Jakarta Provincial Government.

“Yesterday we have relocated 39 households who lived on Apuran riverbank to Daan Mogot Flat in Duri Kosambi Urban Village, Cengkareng. The rest 13 households will be relocated this Wednesday,” stated Head of Region II Flat Technical Management Unit (UPT), Ujang Zainuddin, Tuesday (12/16).

In addition, Zainuddin continued, his party also prepares 52 flat units for Kapuk Urban Village residents. According to the plan, they will be relocated on Thursday (12/18) after West Jakarta Administration finished the data recording.

Meanwhile, Ratni (34), one of the residents relocated, admitted that she is happy can occupy Daan Mogot Flat.

“Living in here (Daan Mogot Flat) is safer than (living) on riverbank. I’m no longer worried with my children’s activities because I can monitor them,” expressed the woman who occupies a unit in Daan Mogot Flat Block B.
