Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency has started building two reservoirs in South Jakarta since November 2021. It is targeted for completion by the end of this year.

Hopefully it can minimize flooding in Jakarta, especially in South Jakarta area

Those two reservoirs are Brigif Reservoir on Jalan Aselih, RT 09/01, Cipedak Urban Village, Jagakarsa Sub-district and Lebak Bulus Reservoir on Jalan Lebak Bulus V, RT 14/04, Cilandak Baru Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district.

Flood Management Division Head, Ericson Indra Pulungan, said two of the four reservoirs included in the 942 DV project are super priority activities through construction of nine polders, four reservoirs, vertical drainage (DV), and twice revitalization.

"Bridgif Reservoir is built to anticipate flooding or overflowing water from Krukut River, including Lebak Bulus Reservoir but from Grogrol River," he said, Monday (13/12).

To build them, his party has deployed heavy equipment on site, such as excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, vibro rollers and so on.

"Hopefully it can minimize flooding in Jakarta, especially in South Jakarta area," he said.
