As many as 17 health workers under the North Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency, collaborated with two veterinarians from the Agriculture Ministry to examine qurban meat at 166 slaughtering locations.
This aims to make sure that the meat distributed to residents is really fit for consumption
North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Unang Rustanto said it was done to 827 cows, 1,622 goats and 115 sheep.
"Based on the results of the postmorte
m examination, 55.91 kg of body organs in the form of the heart, lungs, liver and spleen are rejected, as they contained liver worms," he expressed, Tuesday (7/20).He explained those rejected organs had to be destroyed by burying and doused with liquid detergent and disinfectant.
"This aims to make sure that the meat distributed to residents is really fit for consumption," he stated.
