Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency keeps speeding up the development of a 1,000-square meter embung (artificial lake) on Jalan Letjen Suprapto.

To conduct it, we have deployed dozens of PPSU members plus excavators and 10 dump trucks to the location

Ahmad Saiful, Head of Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency asserted it targeted to be complete in three to four months ahead.

"The construction has touched 40 percent. To conduct it, we have deployed dozens of PPSU members plus excavators and 10 dump trucks to the location," he expressed, Tuesday (3/2).

He explained the embung itself was capable of accommodating water around 3,000 cubic.

"While the remaining 1,000-square-meter land will be transformed into a green open space (RTH)," he explained.

His side also had coordinated with the Park and Urban Forest Sub-agency to build a number of infiltration wells or vertical drainage on the land in a bid to optimally overcome the floods on Jalan Letjen Suprapto.

"We're optimistic it is able to solve the problem of flooding," he asserted.
