Jakarta Youth and Sport Agency (Dispora) converts 36 sports halls (GOR) into emergency refugee location for flood-affected residents.

"The maximum capacity of sports facilities varies from 45 to 350 people," expressed Jakarta Dispora Head, Achmad Firdaus, Wednesday (2/24).

He explained it was done in the context of flood management. Based on the analysis of weather forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Jakartans needed to be aware of the potential impact of heavy rains to extreme.

"It aims to help flood victims, as services to residents are a priority. We are continuously coordinating with related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) for support facilities and assistance for residents while in evacuation," he stated.
