The Thousand Islands Health Sub-agency has started distributing COVID-19 vaccines to elderly people in South and North Thousand Islands sub-districts. As the initial stage, 30 vials of multidose are for 2 sub-districts, each gets 15 vials.

For 60 years and over, two doses are given with a vaccination interval of 28 days after the first dose

Thousand Islands Health Sub-agency Head Herwin Meifendi expressed, its distribution was through a vessel with the tight escort of the police.

"It is done to enforce the Health Ministry's Circular Letter No.HK.02.02/I/368/2021 on COVID-19 Vaccination for Elderly, Comorbids and COVID-19 Survivors and Targets of Delay," he expressed, Monday (2/22).

He explained vaccination would adjust the technical implementation instructions according to the provisions in the circular letter.

"For 60 years and over, two doses are given with a vaccination interval of 28 days after the first dose. Registration and vaccination are scheduled by each local puskesmas," he stated.
