The ongoing flood management program in several flood-prone areas in Central Jakarta has reached 90 percent.
One of flood-prone areas is in Johar Baru, where we have completed mud and waste dredging from upstream to downstream
Central Jakarta Acting Mayor Irwandi said it was carried out by dredging up mud and water channels, as well as making retention ponds locally known as olakan and resistance wells.
"One of flood-prone areas is in Johar Baru, where we have completed mud and waste dredging from upstream to downstream," he expressed, Tuesday (12/1).
Aside that, his side also had completed the construction of olakan rivers and resistance wells in other areas in Cempaka Putih, Tanah Abang and Gambir.
He was optimistic that it could be completed by the end of this year. To optimize it, his side would involve residents to participate in handling flood anticipation.
"It is realized by holding a cleanup action," he said.
