Jakarta Satpol PP forced restaurants and cafes to close temporarily during inspections today to curb the transmission of COVID-19. Two were fined administratively, the rest 21 were temporarily shut down.

Arifin, Head of Jakarta Satpol PP said two restaurants imposed a fine restaurant located in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta (Rp 20 million) and one in Cengkareng, West Jakarta (Rp 5 million).

"We have managed to collect Rp 25 million and then will be transferred to regional cash through Bank DKI account," he expressed, Friday (10/23).

He explained they were punished, as they had failed to implement health protocol, specifically limiting visitor capacity. His side also monitored 262 offices, business places and industry places. 14 of them were forced to temporarily shut down.

"It is done based on public complaints and the results of monitoring in the field," he said.

Regarding mask violations, he added, 11,742 people were netted. In detailed, 11,343 people were subject to social sanctions and 399 should pay administrative fines. The fines collected were Rp 57,050,000.

"The total fines collected during the transitional PSBB period as of October 12 to 22 amounted to Rp 82,050,000," he stated.
