Urban farming groups in Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands, Thousand Islands have utilized an empty land in the size of 3x6 square meters at Tidung Ceria Child-friendly Playground (RPTRA).

Tidung Island Urban Village Head Hafsah said residents planted vegetables and fruits, ranging from water spinach, eggplant, spinach, celery and melon.

"Apart from being part of the effort to achieve food security, urban farming activities are expected to be an educational space for residents, especially children," he expressed, Thursday (10/22).

For the needs of plant seeds, he explained, was from the Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency.

"It provides many benefits, especially the independent fulfillment of fresh, healthy and nutritious vegetables," he stated.
