A number of officers are seen cleaning the 300-meter long drain on Jalan Layur, RW 11, Jati Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Sunday (10/18).

Pulogadung Sub-district Secretary Sigit Darmanto said, to conduct it, his side sent one fire engine and 25 joint personnel of urban village/sub-district elements, PPSU, SDA taskforces and East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency.

"It is done to anticipate puddles and floods," he expressed.

He added it was carried out as the drain was full of mud sediment and waste.

"Our hope is water can flow smoothly," he hoped.
