The ranks of Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is normalizing a drain in RT 04/03, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.
By doing so, the drain will be able to accommodate rain water in large quantities thus flooding can be minimized
Abdul Rouf, Sub-agency Head of Thousand Islands SDA expressed it was carried out by dredging up mud sediment and waste that trigger silting.
"We're doing this to anticipate flooding when it rains," he expressed, Thursday (10/1).
To conduct it, his side had deployed as many as five personnel to the location and had managed to pick up five sacks.
"By doing so, the drain will be able to accommodate rain water in large quantities thus flooding can be minimized," he stated.
