As many as 7,607 local and foreign tourists have visited Thousand Islands on the last long weekend, on August 20-23.

Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti conveyed, those tourists came from various ports such as Marina Ancol, Kaliadem, Tanjung Pasir, and Rawasaban Ports.

"They departed from ports in Jakarta and Tangerang," she said, Monday (8/24).

From total 7,607 tourists, there were 7,540 local tourists and 67 foreign tourists who came to enjoy their weekend in inhabited islands and resort islands in Thousand Islands.

During the long weekend, joint personnel from Satpol PP, Health Sub-agency, Parekraf Sub-agency, Safe Islands Task Force, and urban village apparatuses monitored health protocols implementation at the departure and arrival ports.

"Tourists should wear mask, wash hands, maintain physical distancing, and have their body temperature checked. We also reduce boat's capacity by 50 percent from total seats," she mentioned.
