Thousand Islands Environmental Sub-agency began intensifying socialization about the mandatory use of eco-friendly shopping bags to grocery traders and accessories shop owners.

"To maximize it, his party kept inventorying the number of grocery stalls and shops on each island," said Thousand Islands Environmental Sub-agency Head, Djoko Rianto Budi Hartono, Tuesday (7/7).

In addition to visiting kiosks and shops, his party would also put up banners at strategic locations, piers, tourist sites and culinary spots.

"We're printing banners prohibiting the use of plastic bags for tourists who will visit Thousand Islands," he said.
