Jakarta Maritime Museum Management Unit reopens Thousand Islands' historical tourism islands, Onrust Island and Cipir Island after it was closed due to COVID-19 pandemic and Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).
Starting today, Onrust Island and Cipir Island are open to the public
"Starting today, Onrust Island and Cipir Island are open to the public," explained, Berkah Shadaya, Head of Jakarta Maritime Museum Management Unit, Monday (6/8).
After reopening the islands, his side ensures to implement health protocols and PSBB regulations such as allowing visitors only 50 percent of total capacity, providing hand washing facility, checking visitor's body temperature, and maintaining physical distance between visitors.
"We also sprayed the area with disinfectant regularly," he added.
The other Thousand Islands' historical sites, Kelor Island and Martello Fortress haven't opened yet because the island's s
ea wall is still under repair.
