Thousand Islands Regency prepares concept to protect settlements and tourism sector in Thousand Islands from coronavirus transmission when New Normal is applied in Jakarta.

New Normal needs further regulation and now we are preparing it

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad explained, implementing New Normal doesn't mean opening widely all activities in Thousand Islands, especially that related to tourism sector.

"New Normal needs further regulation and now we are preparing it. So, please be patient," he conveyed, on Saturday (5/30).

According to him, it is important to create proper regulations to make sure residents and tourists in Thousand Islands are safe from COVID-19. Especially that related to homestay.

"Government is currently preparing its procedures and regulation. We want to find a way to facilitate tourism business in settlements that comply with  regulations while protecting citizens from COVID-19," he asserted.

In the other hand, Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti added, her side together with Thousand Islands Pokdarwis are studying further the existing COVID-19 regulations related to tourism and creative economy sectors.

"Together with Pokdarwis, we have prepared temporary SOP regarding tourist visit, resort, restaurant, and snorkeling," she explained.
