PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya continues to prioritize food needs ahead of Eid ul-Fitr for social aid amid COVID-19 pandemic in the capital city.

Food stocks will certainly be safe

According to Arief Prasetyo Adi, President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, his party has various strategies to reduce the inflation rate in Jakarta.

"This is an annual cycle that we always learn about. During Eid al-Fitr, a jump request for a variety of basic needs often occurs accompanied by price hikes," he expressed, Monday (5/11).

Therefore his party has prepared 40,000 tons of rice, 200,000 tons of rice at Cipinang Rice Main Market, 2,000 tons of garlic, 6,000 tons of sugar, 1.5 million liters of cooking oil, 5.7 liters of UHT milk, 1,500 tons of chicken eggs and 1,000 tons of wheat flour.

"Food stocks will certainly be safe. To maintain price stability, PD Dharma Jaya and Perumda Pasar Jaya also do the same thing," he explained.

Because of good coordination between Jakarta TPID and army/police, the panic-buying situation has also been controlled so far.

"The national police’s food stability task force has enforced a limit on the amount of staple foods available for purchase such as, rice, cooking oil, sugar and instant noodle," he stated.
