Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad promoted urban farming program for its residents in order to maintain food security in the region.

"In the middle of emergency situation like this, we need to promote urban farming to fulfill the residents' needs of food," he conveyed, Wednesday (4/8).

His side also instructed Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency to train and facilitate the locals to revive the urban farming program in Thousand Islands.

"Recently, only Tidung Kecil Island and Payung Island residents who utilize their lands for urban farming. There are still a lot of vacant land in Thousand Islands that can be developed for urban farming," he closed.
