Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency continues to promote the importance of protecting children and women.

There is a significant change where we are no longer see any company that employs children and provides protection for women

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati conveyed, socialization was focused on rights and protections towards women workers and minimizing child labor. In January-March period, socialization has been held in 1,013 companies.

"Socialization is carried out based on Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration (Nakertrans) and Energy Agency Head's Circular Letter Number 04/SE/2019 about Prevention and Handling Violence Against Women and Children in the Workplaces," she explained, Tuesday (3/31).

He mentioned, the main point of this circular letter is to prevent violation against women, provide good treatment to female employees, and forbid employing children.

"We have prepared socialization material regarding prevention of violence against women and children to number of companies under coordination of Jakarta Nakertrans and Energy Agency," she added.

According to her, because there were quite number of companies targeted, the companies' HR Division was asked to hold socialization independently. While PPAPP Agency and Nakertrans and Energy Agency will monitor the progress.

"So far we haven't received yet any report regarding violence against women and practice of employing children from companies," she conveyed.

She expected companies can be medium to promote prevention of violence against women and child labor.

"There is a significant change where we are no longer see any company that employs children and provides protection for women," she said.
