The PT MRT Jakarta has enforced a body temperature check using a thermal scanner for passenger who enters the Lebak Bulus Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/4).
We do it by holding the device closer to the forehead of a passenger before entering the station
"We do it by holding the device closer to the forehead of a passenger before entering the station. Similar action will also touch other stations soon," PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Muhammad Kamaluddin.
After being evaluated, PT MRT plans to conduct similar activities in all MRT stations.
"If passengers whose body temperature is above 38.5 degrees Celsius, they will be asked to do medical check-ups at the nearest clinic and are not allowed to take the MRT," he stated.
It is one of PT MRT's preventive measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in Jakarta. Another effort is to provide hand sanitizers at each station.
"Everyday, train and station are routinely cleaned using disinfectant liquid, so passengers do not need to worry too much," he stated.
