The pedestrian crossing bridge (JPO) on Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, is in very poor condition that could harm the passers-by.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, many bolts of the bridge deck made of metal material are apart from its place and are crumbly if stepped on. Also, the paint of the irons of the bridge is peeling and the iron is corroded.

According to Fatimah, a Pejaten Timur resident, the bridge has been in such condition since six months ago. But until now, there is no repair done yet by related unit.

“I’m so scared to pass on that bridge, especially since the stepping irons are getting to collapse. I could fall,” expressed Fatimah (37), Friday (3/21).

Responding this matter, Head of South Jakarta Transportation Department, Arifin Hamonangan, promised to immediately record the data of JPO in South Jakarta that need to be repaired. According to him, all construction and maintenance works of JPO is the responsibility of Jakarta Transportation Department.

“We will do data recording for JPO repair since it is department’s authority,” he finished.
