The disability-friendly sidewalk construction on six roads in North Jakarta keeps being accelerated and is targeted to be complete in mid-November.

Those sidewalks are on Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, Jalan Lodan Raya, Jalan RE Martadinata, Jalan Pluit Timur, Jalan Dadap Raya and Jalan Kamal Muara with a total construction along 10.1 kilometers.

"It has been carried out since June 14 and has reached 88 percent," North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency's Road Infrastructure and Utility Network Completeness Division Head Libertus Sagala, Thursday (10/24).

He details the sidewalk construction includes guide tiles, safety bollards and park benches. While the construction material is from decorative concrete with attention to aspects of the beauty or aesthetics of the city.

"Then the sidewalk footprint is made as comfortable as possible, especially in the inrit section of access in and out of buildings or housing," he stated.
