West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department uses two heavy equipments to dredge mud sedimentation with thickness around 1.5-2 meters on the BCT River, Maja Village, Pegadungan Urban Village, Kalideres.

According to West Jakarta SDA Sub-department's Head, Purwanti, mud dredging has been started a few days ago. It is done since the area is prone to flood.

"Our target is to dredge all the mud sedimentation along the river to Ring Road Cengkareng for around 8 kilometers," she explained, Thursday (8/7).

She hopes this dredging could anticipate flood in the area and add the capacity of the river during rain season.
