The city-owned market operator Pasar Jaya is scheduled to open two special markets that sell handicrafts typical of various regions in Indonesia. Its existence is also to help lift the economy of the craftsmen.

"We prioritize Betawian handicrafts first and then continued with other regions such as NTB such as woven, songket, pearl, etc," disclosed Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin, Tuesday (8/6). 

Both markets are located at Rawa Bening Market and Petojo Enclek Market.

"It will be realized gradually this year," he said.
