Three controlled atmosphere storages (CAS) have been alerted in order to anticipate the scarcity of chili to maintain price stability in the market. They are prepared to store chili, which is predicted to experience scarcity during the long dry season.

"Each unit has a storage capacity of almost 20 tons of chili, such as a three-pair CAS machine in the Kramat Jati Market," expressed Perumda Pasar Jaya Public Relations Assistant Manager, Amanda Gita Dinajar, Monday (7/29).
Aside that, two units that have a capacity of two couples have been operated at Koja Market, North Jakarta and Kedoya Market, West Jakarta.
Those machines are operated to keep the chilies fresh and be more durable, as well as to maintain the stability of chili supply in the middle of the extreme dry season, which threatens the failure of the crop.
"Chili in CAS can be removed again, despite the harvest season has stopped. So, we have no trouble controlling the supply of goods," he said.
