Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad encourages Untung Jawa residents and visitors to maintain cleanliness at Arsa Park, Untung Jawa Island, South Thousand Islands, especially from plastic waste.

His side also reminds the locals to get used to carry their own tumbler to reduce plastic waste in the area.

"All of us surely want Untung Jawa Island and Thousand Island to remain beautiful. Thus we need to keep reminding each other to reduce plastic waste start from using tumbler," he mentioned, Wednesday (5/8).

According to him, waste management and recycle are still not enough to keep the islands clean from waste. Because not only household waste that is increasing, but also waste carried by the ocean that littering the Thousand Island waters.

"Hopefully residents and visitors can reduce the use of plastic bag and other plastic products," he asserted.
