To reduce plastic consumption in Jakarta, the North Jakarta Administration has asked its employees to carry their own tumblers instead of buying bottled water during meeting or event.

"Starting today, carry your own tumblers during meeting or event. Please get used to this," expressed North Jakarta Mayor, Syamsudin Lologau, Monday (3/4).

Despite it is a trivial matter, it will bring great benefits for the environment. Moreover, bottled water is the largest of the other types of plastic.

"We must make changes which begin with ourselves. So let's start an environmentally friendly movement," he uttered.

On that occasion, he gave 200 tumblers to the ranks of North Jakarta Child Protection and Empowerment and Population Control Agency (PPAPP), as well as representatives of sub-district regional working unit (UKPD) and urban village.
