Don't let the technology be in the 21st century, but policy holders still think of the 20th century mindset
Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan along with the mayors and governors from 26 major world cities, discussed Open Government during the first round of the Urban 20 (U20) Summit meeting, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
On that occasion, Anies gave a speech about the importance of adopting a 21st century perspective when talking about Open Government.
"Don't let the technology be in the 21st century, but policy holders still think of the 20th century mindset," he stated, as quoted by an official Facebook account, Wednesday (10/31).
He uttered that the openness and the existence of space are not enough. It takes two to tango, there must be room for participation, but what is no less important is the presence of proactive citizens who want to participate.
"Jakarta gives examples of village arrangements that involve citizens in planning, as an illustration," he said.
