Central Jakarta administration is conducting socialization about temporary suspension of delman (horse-drawn buggies) in Monas during Asian Games. The delman operational will be moved to other tourist sites in Jakarta.

"No delman in Monas on August 1 up to September," expressed Bayu Sari Hastuti, Head of Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept., Monday (7/2).

According to him, this policy is to anticipate transmission of viruses or diseases against horse athletes who will compete in the forthcoming Asian Games.

"Temporarily, its operation will be moved to Kota Tua and Ragunan Zoo," he expressed.

From the data, in Monas area, there are 51 people who have delman who are usually serving the tourist. In overall, in Central Jakarta, there are 60 horses. For horse vaccination, is the authority of Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept.

"Central Jakarta has no stables. Most delman here are from West Jakarta and East Jakarta," he said.
