Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives Dept. is targeting the Kota Tua shelter for street vendor (PKL) on Jalan Cengkeh, Pinangsia, Taman Sari, West Jakarta can operate in mid-September.
Of 456 PKL, 152 of them are allocated for culinary PKL
According to Irwandi Jusuf, Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Dept., shelter construction that can accommodate 456 PKL has entered finishing stage. His dept. also has verified as many as 334 PKL.
"Of 456 PKL, 152 of them are allocated for culinary PKL," he stated, Tuesday (8/29).
He explained, the shelter location built is equipped by a parking lot that can accommodate 400 motorcycles and 150 cars and dozens of buses.
At this time, it is still awaiting electrical installation from PLN. As planned, the government will conduct inauguration in early October.
He admitted not all PKL in Kota Tua area can be accommodated in the shelter. There are totally 597 PKL in the location. And 141 of them cannot be accommodated.
"Our shelter will operate in mid-September. Right now, we're still looking for solution for those who cannot be accommodate whether they can be accommodated or not," he closed.
