Sacrificial animals' health examination will be tightened

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. is going to examine sacrificial animals' health. It is carried out to prevent anthrax disease.

According to Darjamuni, Head of Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept., his dept. will take a sample of sacrificial animal blood to be tested in the laboratory.

"Sacrificial animals' health examination will be tightened," he expressed, Thursday (8/17).

In Jakarta, he stated, there are more than 4,000 sacrificial animal slaughterhouses that will be checked before Idul Adha. Each slaugterhouse must include an animal certificate from the origin.

"All slaughterhouses will be checked. We ask for a statement letter from the area of origin and take samples of incoming animals," he told.

Last year, there was no found anthrax disease in the capital.
