Of 1,451 kiosks, 90 out of them are burnt
A fire gutted 90 kiosks at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, at around 2 AM, Monday (6/12). Allegedly, it was triggered by electricity short-circuit.
Gatot Sulaiman, Section Head of Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. said that there were no fatalities or casualties in the incident.
“Temporary allegation, it is caused by electricity short-circuit from Erni's kiosk who sells groceries. But, so far, it's still being investigated by the police," he expressed.
After getting fire report, 19 fire trucks were immediately sent to the fire location. Until around 5.20 AM, they were still cooling down the scene.
Kramat Jati Market Manager, Nurman Adhi Permana uttered, those kiosks were located at Block C1 that sells various spices and herbs.
"Of 1,451 kiosks, 90 out of them are burnt," he closed.
