Jakarta Legislative (DPRD) wants supervision on use of groundwater in the capital to be tightened. 

Jakarta DPRD Commission D, Bestari Barus disclosed groundwater use in the residential and building must be supervised. Because it is deemed very exploitative.

"There must be assertion from Jakarta Provincial Government in controlling use of groundwater," he stated, Monday (3/20).

He assessed it aims to maintain the city's ecological environment. "It must be supervised tightly, for ecological sustainability," he stated.

On the other hand, his party agreed on merger of two BUMDs, namely PDAM Jaya and PD PAL Jaya become Jakarta Water Regional Company. Yet there should be accompanied by public service improvement, particularly improvement of water clean quality.

"We want water distribution to the public to meet the feasibility element, like substances in the water does not cause a negative impact to users," he disclosed.
