La Nina or wet-dry season occurs in Indonesia. As the impact, low to heavy rain will pour all year long. This phenomenon is predicted to occur until April 2017.

BPBD’s official, Denny Wahyu Heriyanto, said La Nina is the opposite of El Nino which occurred last year.

“Last year, El Nino occurred. This year is La Nina or wet-dry season,” he said, Saturday (10/1).

Based on the data from Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) data, rainy season caused by La Nina will occur until March-April 2017. The intensity is fluctuate.

This phenomenon, he added, will trigger puddle in several areas. That is why he requests Dept. of Water Management to normalize existing water channel in Jakarta.
