Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Taman Sari Sub-district Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Glodok, West Jakarta, Monday (10/26).
During his speech, Pramono stated the health center stands on 976 square meters of land with a floor space of 2,725 square meters.
To extend its reach, this main facility is backed by five health centers
The health center features facilities to serve 124,500 residents, averaging 500 patient visits daily.
"To extend its reach, this main facility is backed by five health centers and 63 community healthcare posts (Posyandu),” he explained.
He commended the well-equipped facility situated in the high-density neighborhood, noting its capability to provide care across all age groups, from expectant mothers and young children to senior citizens.
Pramono ensured local health services are fully prepared for emergency scenarios, including health risks stemming from Mount Anak Krakatau's activity and declining air quality.
“My main goal this morning was to check if ground-level operations align with our established guidelines and if the local response system is functioning properly,” he explained.
He stressed that health, education, and social protection form the bedrock of city policies, asserting that economic gains mean little unless they reach vulnerable communities.
“I hold myself accountable for how tax money is spent, which is why we maintain complete transparency about where every rupiah goes,” he added.
Pramono asserted that tax funds will be transparently used for public facilities, including health centers and school repairs.
“Several health centers still need work, including two here in Taman Sari,” he stated.
Taman Sari Health Center features innovative programs: PELITA for TB and leprosy care, TARI for child development, and BEKEL for maternal support.
