The Jakarta Provincial Government is offering a special public transport fare of Rp8 to mark Indonesia's 81st Independence Day on August 17, 2026.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the special fare applies to public transport services under the Jakarta Provincial Government, including Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

He explained that the special fare was set after the Jakarta Provincial Government coordinated with the central government.

"After coordinating with the central government and City Hall, we decided to revise the fare for August 17 from Rp1 to Rp8," Pramono said at Manggarai LRT Station on Thursday (8/13).

He said the special fare was set to align fares between public transport services managed by the central government and the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"So that the fares set or managed by the central government and the Jakarta government are the same," he noted.
