The East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has prepared 25 tow trucks and 10 high-capacity 250cc motorcycles to bolster public services through the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) call center at 1500813.
These operational vehicles are designated to provide emergency towing services and ambulance escorts for funeral processions. All services are available to Jakarta residents free of charge and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We're readying 25 tow trucks and 10 motorcycles
According to Harlem Simanjuntak, Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, this mobilization of assets and personnel is a strategic alignment with the 1500813 call center program introduced by Governor Pramono Anung.
"We're readying 25 tow trucks and 10 motorcycles specifically to back the 1500813 call center services," he said in a statement on Thursday (8/13).
The primary goal of this service is to ensure a faster response for residents in need of vehicle towing or hearse escorts. Harlem emphasized that the fleet's deployment is highly targeted; vehicles are only sent out based on actual needs reported through the hotline.
"We manage these resources efficiently. While the command center is centralized at the Jakarta Transportation Agency, the regional teams are the ones who spring into action to fulfill each request on the ground," he explained.
He added that while 250cc motorcycles are assigned for funeral ambulance escorts, they are restricted from entering toll roads. This is because the vehicles' specifications do not meet the requirements for highway travel.
"If highway access is required, our larger motorcycles are on standby to continue the escort," he noted.
While no requests for towing or hearse escorts have been filed as of Wednesday (8/12), he assured that the response team is in a state of constant readiness.
"Our fleet and personnel are stationed and ready to spring into action the moment a request comes in through the official mechanism," he stated.
