The South Jakarta Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land (CKTRP) Sub-agency inspected 650 buildings from January to June 2026. This effort was carried out to ensure the safety and suitability of the buildings, especially after the Terra Drone incident that resulted in a loss of life due to inadequate building access.

Head of the Sub-agency, Andy Lazuardy said this incident triggered the implementation of massive inspections of buildings below eight floors which are under the supervision authority of the local government.

Inspection of buildings below eight floors

"This incident triggered us to carry out a large-scale inspection of buildings below eight floors which are under our supervision authority," he said, Friday (7/3).

Andy explained that by the second quarter of 2026, inspections had covered approximately 40 percent of the total targeted buildings.

The inspection was carried out involving cross-agency such as CKTRP Sub-agency, the Fire and Rescue Agency, and Occupational Safety and Health (K3) elements.

"After all the inspection results are collected, it is determined whether the building is suitable, less suitable, or not suitable for use," he explained.

During the inspection process, several buildings were found to lack a Certificate of Functional Suitability (SLF). In response to this situation, the sub-agency prioritized guidance by issuing notification letters to owners to immediately apply for permits.

He hopes that the inspection of the 650 buildings will increase awareness among building owners and tenants regarding the importance of building safety and suitability, including meeting SLF requirements.

"We hope that other building owners will also immediately evaluate their buildings, including ensuring ownership of SLF," he hoped.
