The Jakarta Public Early Warning Forum (FKDM) is set to enliven Jakarta's 499th anniversary with the 'Jakarta Fun Color' event. It will take place at the Kota Tua Cultural Bridge on Jalan Kalibesar Timur, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, this Sunday (6/28).
This event will feature a variety of activities, including the Roasted 'Pisang Raja' Festival, a blood donation drive, educational grants, traditional Gambang Kromong musical performances, and door prize giveaways.
It is intended as a space for expression and recreation
Jakarta FKDM Chairman, Adhi Ayoe Yanthy noted that Jakarta Fun Color is a hub for expression, recreation, and solidarity beyond being just a get-together.
"It is intended as a space for expression and recreation, as well as a way to build unity between FKDM members and the community at large," she stated, Thursday (6/25).
Beyond being an entertainment and social affair, the event also serves as the launch of the FKDMJakarta.id application. The app is expected to support the execution of public early warning duties more effectively and modernly
On the same occasion, the Pisang Raja Festival will be held, featuring 10,000 bananas. This is an effort to preserve traditional Betawi culinary heritage while strengthening the relationship between the FKDM and the public.
"The festival is held to preserve traditional cuisine and strengthen ties between FKDM members and the community. The tradition of roasting bananas has been a generational custom, including in Betawi culture, as a way to process local produce and welcome guests," she explained.
According to her, the preservation of these traditions is aimed at creating a communal atmosphere and protecting the cultural values that remain vibrant in Jakarta.
As the city celebrates its 499th year, the FKDM encourages residents to remain engaged in maintaining social harmony and contributing to urban development.
"We hope for a stronger Jakarta in preserving safety, public order, and communal harmony. We also envision Jakarta continuing its transformation into a progressive, inclusive, and sustainable global city, ensuring a safe and pleasant living environment for all its people,” she stated.
