Ten PPSU officers from Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, West Jakarta, Monday (5/25), cleaned the drains on East and West Kembangan Streets.

Head of Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Junaidi said this channel cleaning was carried out following up on reports from residents who complained about five to 10 centimeters of flooding on the two roads, during the prolonged rain on Sunday (5/24).

"Officers carry out cleaning while tracing blockages in the channels," he said.

He explained that the 50-meter-long channel on both roads has a width of between three and five meters and a height of 30 to 60 centimeters.

"We'll try to finish it today. But if it's not finished, we'll continue tomorrow," he admitted.
