Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) held a public expose for the Kurban Berkah 1447 Hijriah program themed "Kurban Jakarta Berkah untuk Semua" at Difabis Cafe, South Jakarta Mayor's Office, on Wednesday (5/13).
to make performing qurban more practical, hygienic, and well-targeted
Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) Chair Akhmad H. Abubakar said the Kurban Berkah program was designed to make performing qurban more practical, hygienic, and well-targeted by distributing sacrificial meat to remote, underdeveloped, and border (3T) regions while also empowering mustahik livestock breeders.
"This year's qurban program has the widest distribution reach, covering nearby communities, remote areas across Indonesia, and even Palestine," he added.
Akhmad explained that the program targets more than 10,000 beneficiaries, with over 100 sacrificial cows and goats prepared for distribution.
According to him, this year's Kurban Berkah program features seven flagship initiatives. One of them is Kurban Jakarta, aimed at supporting poor residents and communities in need across Jakarta.
Another program, Kurban Pelosok Negeri, focuses on distributing qurban meat to 3T regions and villages with limited access to sacrificial animals throughout Indonesia.
"In addition, there is the Kurban Tetangga Sendiri program, which allows residents to perform qurban through mosques in their own neighborhoods with facilitation from Baznas," he explained.
He added that Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) is also introducing Kurban Fest, a social qurban festival held in vulnerable areas and densely populated underprivileged neighborhoods.
"We also provide programs for civil servants and BUMD, Kurban untuk Saudara di Palestina and Sedekah Kurban, which encourages public participation through charitable donations," he said.
Beyond the flagship programs, Akhmad said Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) also introduced four main innovations, including Dapur Kurban, which provides professionally prepared qurban meals for underprivileged families.
Other innovations include Rendang Kaleng Ketahanan Pangan, Kurban Digital, and Green Kurban, which promotes the use of eco-friendly packaging to reduce plastic waste.
"Through these innovations, qurban waste management is handled more effectively while ensuring the animals are healthy, halal, and in accordance with Islamic law," he emphasized.
He noted that Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) is also working to secure the best prices for sacrificial animals so residents can distribute qurban more broadly and optimally.
Akhmad stressed Jakarta Baznas (Bazis)'s commitment to ensuring sacrificial meat is distributed to residents who are truly eligible and in need.
"Qurban is not merely a personal religious ritual, but a major social movement to help others, from nearby neighbors and communities across Indonesia to the global level," he said.
