The Jakarta government has confirmed its commitment to maintaining various incentives for battery-based electric vehicles (BEVs). These incentives include exemptions from Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and the Transfer of Motor Vehicle Title Fee (BBNKB), as well as exclusion from the odd-even traffic restriction policy.

This policy aligns with the Home Minister's Circular Letter Number 900.1.13.1/3764/SJ regarding the provision of fiscal incentives for electric vehicles. Consequently, the Jakarta government’s policy direction remains consistent in supporting the development of eco-friendly vehicles while accelerating the transition to clean energy.

Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Head, Lusiana Herawati, stated that these fiscal incentives refer to the central government's policy.

"Jakarta government continues to provide PKB and BBNKB exemptions for battery electric vehicles, in accordance with the established provisions," she expressed, Tuesday (5/5).

She added that this policy serves as a form of support for the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem and as an effort to encourage the public to switch to more environmentally friendly modes of transportation.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo, added that the odd-even exemption for electric vehicles also remains in effect.

“This policy is part of the effort to promote the use of low-emission vehicles, in line with the commitment to emission reduction and the development of a sustainable transportation system,” he said.

According to Syafrin, the development of electric vehicles must be integrated into a comprehensive urban mobility strategy, which includes strengthening public transportation and maintaining consistent environmental policies.

Through this policy, the Jakarta government reaffirms its commitment to supporting the clean energy transition while establishing a more eco-friendly and sustainable urban transportation system.

“Jakarta government is committed to continuously supporting the clean energy transition through incentives that are aligned with national policies,” he emphasized.
