The arrangement of green belts at three strategic points in East Jakarta has been finalized by the local Parks and City Forest Sub-agency. This step was taken to replace damaged ornamental plants that were either wilting or dead.
Those three locations involved are Jalan MT Haryono in Cawang (100m), Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo (300m), and Jalan DI Panjaitan (100m).
We’ve replaced all damaged plants with new stock
East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita explained that the aim is to beautify the area, which serves as a major entrance for vehicles from Bogor and Bekasi. Involving 20 staff members, the week-long project was completed.
"We’ve replaced all damaged plants with new stock from our nursery in Pulogebang Indah Park, Cakung," he expressed.
He noted that they chose bougainvillea and anjuang kribo for the project because these species are hardy and can withstand various weather conditions. In total, 100 polybags of bougainvillea and 1,000 polybags of anjuang kribo were distributed among the three sites.
"This initiative doesn't just make the areas neater; it makes them more vibrant, green, and pleasing to the eye," he closed.
