The firefighter personnel of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency extinguished fire that burned a house on Jalan Mawar Lestari Indah, RT 03/07, Lebak Bulus Urban Village, Cilandak District, South Jakarta. The initial suspicion is that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Sjukri Bahanan said the incident happened at 6:45 AM.

"Then we deployed 17 firetrucks with 68 personnel to handle the fire," he said, Friday (4/24).

Sjukri explained that the fire was successfully localized at around 7:06 AM. Officers then conducted a cooling process to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.

"There were no fatalities in this incident. The firefighting process was declared complete at 7:45 AM," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Suharto (55) admitted that he saw the fire at the house's garage.

"The homeowner immediately ran out to save himself before the fire grew bigger and destroyed the building," he stated.

According to him, the quick response from residents and firefighters helped prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings.

"We express our appreciation for the officers' quick response," he admitted.
