Jakarta City Council Commission B Member, Dwi Rio Sambodo commended Jakarta’s achievement in ranking second as the safest city in the ASEAN region.

According to him, this accomplishment must be maintained through efforts to preserve and uphold various aspects that are already functioning well, ranging from public services and digitalization to security systems.

"When something is already positive and productive, then maintenance and care become crucial," he expressed, Friday (4/17).

Beyond sustaining current progress, the Jakarta government needs to ensure continuous development so that service quality and safety in the capital city further improve.

He hopes this milestone will inspire other cities across Indonesia to implement comparable standards.

"This can act as a trigger for other Indonesian cities, allowing for a "cloning" of Jakarta’s standards elsewhere. In the end, this is for the benefit of Indonesia as a whole," he remarked.

Rio considers this achievement a sign that the Jakarta government’s policies are moving in the right direction.

Further, he stated that Governor Pramono Anung’s leadership approach—which emphasizes tangible results rather than personal branding—has had a positive impact on Jakarta’s performance.

"Working should be substantial, rather than merely focusing on political imagery," he continued.

In the future, he stressed that this positive track record should be both maintained and further enhanced on a larger scale.

He prompted the entire executive body of the Jakarta government to deliver maximum and thorough effort.

"Like a football match, we must apply total football," he stated firmly.
