45 Buildings at Pegadungan Cemetery Dismantled

A number of illegal buildings standing on the Pegadungan Public Cemetery land, Pegadungan Urban Village, Kalideres, Tuesday (3/31), were dismantled by joint personnel from the West Jakarta City Government.

Acting Head of Kalideres District, Raditian Ramajaya said, the demolition, which involved 100 joint personnel from Satpol PP, Police, Army, Bina Marga, Parks and City Forests, Environment, and PPSU, was a continuation of the return of the function of the occupied Pegadungan cemetery land.

"In total, 45 buildings were dismantled," he said.

According to Radit, of the 30 buildings in the Pegadungan urban village, 20 were demolished by the owners themselves and 10 others were demolished by officers.

Then, in the Pegadungan urban village area, of the 15 buildings, 10 of them were demolished by the owners themselves and the other five by officers.

"The relocation process for 126 families living in 45 buildings on the cemetery land was confirmed to have been carried out well," he added.

For the next stage, Radit stated, his party will dismantle 10 buildings that have not agreed to be relocated.

"The target is for the demolition to be completed this week," he stated.
