As many as seven blue troop personnel were deployed to repair drainage covers on Jalan Raya Centex, RT 08/03, Ciracas Urban Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta.

Ciracas District's Coordinator of Water Resource Taskforce, Deby said repairs were carried out following the collapse of the concrete slab covering the channel. Furthermore, the channel walls, or retaining walls, at the site were also damaged, potentially disrupting drainage functions.

"If not handled immediately, the channel can become blocked and cause flooding when the water level is high," he said, Tuesday (3/31).

The repairs include repairing the channel walls and reinstalling a cover approximately four meters long.

"The work is targeted for completion tomorrow. Hopefully, this channel will function optimally," he added.

Meanwhile, Sofyan (39), one of the local residents, welcomed the repair of the drain cover on Jalan Raya Centex because it is important to prevent flooding and increase pedestrian comfort.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation. The channel has now been repaired and re-sealed, making it safer and less disruptive," he admitted.
