East Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency has stepped up efforts to clear waste at a temporary disposal site (TPS) on Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jatinegara.

" We are optimizing trip frequency to ensure faster and more efficient handling,"

East Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head Monang Sinaga highlighted that 12 large garbage trucks, each with a capacity of up to 10 tons, have been deployed daily to transport waste piled up along the East Flood Canal (KBT).

"We are maximizing daily transport to the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Processing Site. We are optimizing trip frequency to ensure faster and more efficient handling," he said, Monday (3/30).

Monang explained that deploying high-tonnage trucks is a key strategy to accelerate waste cleanup so that accumulation at the TPS can be resolved quickly and prevented from recurring.

He added that the buildup at the Cipinang Besar Selatan site was caused by a temporary halt in waste deliveries to Bantar Gebang following a recent landslide at the landfill.

"We are targeting all waste piles to be cleared within a week, including at other TPS locations across East Jakarta," he asserted.

He said the accelerated cleanup is expected to improve public comfort and preserve the city's aesthetics.

"We urge residents to sort waste from the source, which can also help increase household income and reduce the volume sent to Bantar Gebang," he emphasized.
