Transjakarta saw a major spike in ridership during the Eid 2026 holiday. Daily passengers peaked at 697,519 on March 22, rising steeply from 438,028 on the day before. In total, the service handled 1,135,547 passengers between March 21 and 22, 2026.

The spike in ridership follows the public's enthusiastic response to the special Rp 1 promotional fare offered during the Eid holiday on March 21–22.

Residents to enjoy safe and comfortable travel at a very low cost

Transjakarta's Head of Public Relations and CSR, Ayu Wardhani, noted that the rise signifies strong urban mobility and growing public trust in the city's transit system.

According to her, people are becoming more dependent on public transit to get around for social visits and tourism during the Eid holiday.

“The Rp 1 fare policy from March 21 to 22 served as a gesture of appreciation from the Jakarta government, allowing residents to enjoy safe and comfortable travel at a very low cost,” she noted, Friday (3/27).

Ayu stated that passenger density was concentrated at several strategic bus stops serving as gateways to tourist areas and routes connecting to satellite cities.
